Featuring the Prelude Orchestra, conducted by Jillian Forbes, Intermezzo Orchestra, conducted by Keith Hulen and Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Terry Foster. Winners of the EMA-YO Concerto Competition will perform their concertos with their orchestra. Concert will be held at Crystal Lake South High School.
Adults: $20 early/$25 at the door
Seniors (65+): $15 early/$20 at the door
Children (18 and younger): Free with paying adult
Alexis Belyaev lives in McHenry, Illinois, and is completing her senior year at Carmel Catholic High School. She has been a member of the Encore Symphony Orchestra for four years and is looking forward to her fourth year performing in EMA Wind Symphony this summer. Next year, she plans to pursue degrees in biological science and music performance.
Lexi is a member of the Encore Flute Quartet, which participated in the MYA Chicago Chamber Competition, placed as finalists at the Rembrandt Chamber Competition, and qualified as Fischoff National Chamber Competition quarterfinalists for two consecutive years. As a soloist, Lexi has been selected to ILMEA District 7 for four years and participated in the All-State Honors Band for three of those years. At the IHSA Solo & Ensemble Contest, she has earned Division I ratings on flute and piccolo as well as the Best of Day Award.
Malwina Bendyk is a freshman at Crystal Lake Central High School. She has been playing flute since the 5th grade and is a new member of the EMA Youth Intermezzo Orchestra as well as the Concert Band at Crystal Lake Central. When not playing flute, Malawian enjoys spending her time reading and participating in extracurriculars like Science Olympiad.
